According to a post from the National Lawyers’ Guild of Chicago, 20 people arrested while protesting ICE at the Broadview Detention Center had their cases dismissed today.

The decision comes two months after the Court allowed Texas to use maps a lower court acknowledged were “racially motivated” and designed chiefly to create a republican advantage in that state.

U.S. District Court Judge Michael Simon said federal officers could not use “chemical or projectile munitions” near the ICE building unless there was an imminent threat of harm.

“Today’s ruling marks the fifth time in a row that a federal court has allowed one of the five offshore wind projects suspended in December to move forward,” Hillary Bright, executive director of Turn Forward, a nonprofit that advocates for wind power, said in a statement to Straight Arrow News. “With this decision, courts have now consistently rejected the government’s abrupt attempt to halt construction on these fully permitted projects.”

Both Liam and his dad are home in Minneapolis after a federal judge ordered their release over the weekend. They were escorted there by Texas Congressional Representative Joaquin Castro, who posted pictures of them safe at home.
